Alright, so i've done this before, but i want to know if there is a quicker way to start up the car.

Here's the situation:

Car is perfectly fine, spark is great, no problems

THEN...

notice an oil leak so i remove the dizzy from the head ( dohc zc )
-made sure that i marked the three bolts for sure with a marker,

took it out, replaced the gasket, put it back together exactly how it was before aligned and all, but now it cranking like crazy,
and on the odd times it sounds like its catching, but it doesnt.

What could be the cause of this? Anyone can shine some light on this??

PS: I removed the dizzy before to install a new ignitor and when i put it back together, it did the same thing it is doing now, however it fired up after some time of cranking... why?? i dunno

Let me know anyone for a quicker way to start my car up!! Thanks!!

It's impossible to be off 180 degrees - the distributor won't fit. If it worked before you took it apart, it sounds like the distributor wasn't put back together properly or there's a problem with it.

You should try checking the distributor itself over again.

Is the spark plug wire order right? You remembered to connect the electrical connector right (I'm assuming it's OBD0 - there should be only one plug)? Did you test for spark yet?

didnt check for spark, did remember the firing order.
just tried it, move the dizzy a little to the left or right, and it started, but is running really rough.. it backfires here and there,

i kept trying to change the dizzy but no where i put it will it not start rough.. sometimes it wants to die??

could it be my spark plugs are coated in gas or somethin that its not firing properly??

no engine codes either

if you moved to the left or right then you are changing the timing ... get your timing light out and set to stock setting.

well.. dunno what was the problem was when it wasnt catching, maybe it was flooded.. but when it was mis-firing and running rough.. it was actually the firing order.. i could have sworn i put it the way it was.. but had to double check just in case!! Thanks everyone for the help!!
