And he wasn't being overly cocky in the prefigth stuff. There was actually a language thing there when he said that he wasn't impressed with Matt in his other fight. He didn't mean it to come off like that, it just did. The sarcasm was lost, so to speak. He apoligized after, but by that time it was too late and Matt got his panties all in a knot, so GSP figured, what the heck, run with it. The rest of it was the UFC just hyping it's shit liek every fighter is told to do. :)

GSP won it the way it was suppose to be won, with nobody thinking he didn't deserve it or that it was some fluke. Matt said he thought it was a punch that hit him and not a kick, so at least he knew it was no fluke. :)

no doubt, the Superman punch at the end of round one was nutz!! During the replay he got it right in the forhead, nice and stamped...Amazing fight.

:bullshit: . Hughes is known for being an arrogant cock knocker, and GSP is very humble. I take it you didnt see the live telecast during the TUF4 Finale, where GSP was super humble. And further more, GSP has apologized for his actions after Hughes fought Penn. Facts are a little twisted

GSP dominated huges and finished unlike BJ after dominating hughes in round 1. I do think GSP is the better fighter and can see BJ getting another shot, he deserves it even after 2 losses.

Silvia is a different story, I pretty much think the ex-roid case softy needs to get taught a lesson I would have loved to see Barnett (who was in Monson's corner) get into it with the ape setting the stage for a great battle. Vera is skilled but I dont knowif he has the size to compete with The Maniac.

All the other fights were real decent. Great card other than the let down of the HW title fight but you kinda had to expect that.

I think BJ is dropping back down to 155 (possibly fight tomas again? joe stevenson will want a turn at him too, but won't stand a chance)

... Also vera has a shot at silvia if monson did, vera's the same weight and has like 6 inches on him.. 5 actually I think, 5'9 to 6'2... They'll give him a shot, I don't know if he has a chance though.. He needs to lean up some, silvia is a lot better than he used to be, he's not great but, there isn't much competition for him right now in the ufc, until they start brining in some new guys... Vera will have a better shot in that he'll atleast be able to reach silvia, thats where monson didn't have a chance.. Couldn't reach him standing up and get inside, and when he did have tim on his back he couldn't reach his face to hit him...

I hope they round up some guys for a 140lb division as well...

UFC is officially just like boxing now. One main event everyone pays to see and a few scrub under card fights nobody cares about all grossly exaggerated into a 3 hour PPV

When i watch K1 or Pride every second fight feels like a main event. UFC really needs some more depth and competition. Time to pay fighters more money.

Also this isnt boxing, i think UFC has too many weight classes. The class Franklin is in shouldn’t even exist. It should be from 150-180-210.. More along the lines Pride is using.

Soon it will turn into boxing. 150-151.5 152-153.5 with 2 fighters in each class fighting eacth other their entire careers. Its stupid and boring to watch. After all, its about entertainment.

Before me and my friend watched UFC 9879 or whatever the last one was, we watched the K1 Final 16. After that show, watching UFC felt like we were wasting our time. Yeah the GSP / Huges fight was good. Ask me about any other fight on the card i couldnt even tell you who fought. Oh yeah, Sylvia, vs some scrub for a Heavyweight title that means less than a burger king crown.

Whoa nice rant I'm not sure if monson a world class, argubly best grappler and submission specialist in the world classifies as a scrub but whatever. The ufc is not pride I don't think anyone disputes that but you must admit its getting real good. Fighters are getting more and more dollars as the sport is growing but its not gonna happen overnight. I agree they need depth but I thought that was a pretty damn good card other than the HW title.
