Nah it's alright, dress right and you'll be fine. Too many people worry about how they look and so they end up freezing their ass's off because they don't want to ruin their hair by wearing a hat and putting on a big parka makes them look unattractive as well. I like watching some women walk on some ice glazed sidewalks with high heels as well.

No, garage isn't heated, but my car is outside anyways until we sell the Maxima. We don't have plates on it anymore. Anyone want to buy a REALLY nice Maxima so that I can park my car in the garage again and not freeze my ass off every morning? LOL

ah well, i've got a garage it's not insulated, as well my car doesn't have a block heater but i'm not driving it as much cause i got the public commute to work as well

and to you could be dressed right and all, be warm under the jacket and touqe but it doesn't change teh fact that the air outside is still cold

I agree, I wear my normal clothes pluss at least one hoody a winter jacket, touqe, scarf and mits. If I had it my way I would wear ski pants, I just think that all the clothing is uncomfortable. you can't move!

+1, especially if your on a packed train, trying to move around sucks more with all the packing

djayz

get wind proof clothing and wear that on the outside of a fleece jacket or the other way around.

if worn on the outside it protects from the wind and keeps the heat in the fleece. and if worn on the inside it keeps the heat closer to your body and the fleece just slows down the wind.

both ways work for me and i feel warm only thing that gets cold are my hands and toes.

hoamic11
11-24-2006, 11:22 AM
my body's warm, nice fleece with a nice cozy shell to protect me.

-29? Bah, that's nothing! I'm from Winterpeg where the temp drops to -40 or at one point -55...and we still went to the forks to snowboard that day too. I guess living there you build skin like a rhino and have more tolerance for cold weather.

Just for anyone interested, the down filled parkas at MEC are amazing! I bought one just the other day and it totally kicks ass. 320 plus the stupid 1 dollar for a lifetime membership.

The black and coffee are actually really nice colors and not the typical shiny material you see on down jackets. And that damn fur piece is removal!

haha my husband is a sweetie though, he makes sure to let me know (while he's still in bed and I am not) that my car didn't start and I have to go outside to do it. What would I do without him?

I have to plug it in as soon as it hits -15 otherwise it's an absolute bitch to start. Also I now know if it gets colder than -15 even with the car plugged in the starter still doesn't work :whipped:

Fuck all of you, I have to work outside in the stuff through Tuesday... its not so bad, you can dress for it, but as soon as you pick up a solid steel alumabeam that has been sitting outside in this, your hands instantly freeze. I really hate my life sometimes.

I lived in vancouver for a while. you can actually see there place where i lived in the katkam camera (8 blocks in from the water in the bay just above the burrard bridge). I used to think the same way - i'd take the rain over snow and -3925862905 temperatures, but i found out that i was wrong.

rarely seeing the sun and those chill-you-to-the-bone days where the temp was 4-5 degrees and damp as hell really took it's toll on me. What I do miss tho is how green everything is, the fact that even in february things were green, spring at the end of february and cherry blossoms and blooming magnolia trees everywhere. good times.

I'll take winter in Calgary over winter in Eastern Ontario, too. just as cold as Calgary and humid.

"Vancouver homeless shelters stockpile bedding as snow starts falling
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
at 18:34 on November 25, 2006, EST.

VANCOUVER (CP) - As snow began falling in Vancouver, the city's social service agencies were searching for more beds for the homeless in anticipation of a pre-Christmas cold snap.

On the city's poverty-stricken Downtown Eastside, the Salvation Army has accommodations for 237 people and was stockpiling bedding in anticipation of a high demand.

The Salvation Army said it's grateful to the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation for buying the entire stock of blankets from the Army and Navy department store and donating them.

Capt. John Murray said the group donated about 400 blankets.

Environment Canada was forecasting up to 30 centimetres of snow for the Lower Mainland through Monday. "

you think you guys have it bad

its -24 out and last night i had a few friends over

my house is always at 20 degree's and never drops, always stayed the same...till last night

one of the guys tried to turn the heat up, now first of all, never fuck with someones thermostat. so i woke up this morning and my house was 16 degree's and i couldn't believe it and when i got home from lunch it was 13 degree's. by 7:00pm it finally made its way back up to 18 degree's and i just checked it and its at 16 right now. i am seriously freezing my ass off and considering staying at my parents till next weekend. with 4 conforters on my bed that are really thick and i can still kind of feel it, that says something.

and you guys can only imangine how fucking pissed off i am right now at my friend. next time someone touches it, i will break the finger the used

That guy walks like a duck in that pic up there^

Also, It's funny when they show vancouver, all they show is smashed cars on the side of the road, or ricer cars trying to get thru the snow, with the throttle pinned.. haha.. More gas, we're not gaining speed!!!!
