If it helps the disc is a Verbatim DVD+R, then downbelow there's an RW symbol. I burned a movie (DVD-Video format) to it, but now I can't erase the disc to reuse.

Does burning a DVD-Video format file to an RW kill it's rewriteability?

Are you sure it's a DVD-RW disc? Under the RW should say what format the disc it is. If it says DVD-R in a large font, most likey you don't have a RW disc.

I only have a few DVD-RW disc since they are ultra pricey compared to the DVD-R and I had no issues with burning DVD Movies and then erasing the disc.

What does the burning software display under "Media Info"?
