Have a 98 chev cavalier and have had trouble with the command
start lately. Put new hood switch in, but at times when I use
the remote the theft light illuminates and the car fires up and
then proceeds to shut down. I looked at the black box under
the dash and saw no number, but the hand remote has a
model # CS 555. Went to the grocery store last nite and used
the key in the ignition going into town, then tried the remote
from the store and the car shut down. Sat in car with key in
ignition, pumped brakes, opened hood and closed then waited
for theft light to go out. Took about 15 mins and then I was able
to use the key in the ignition to start the vehicle again. Afraid to
venture to far right now as it is -30 below up here with wind chill
of about -40. Not sure what steps to take next? Thanks for the
help in advance!
