Was looking for some help with my command car starter in
my 98 automatic chev cavalier. I recently replaced the hood
switch because the starter was working intermittently. I then
went out on a cooler morning to go to work and I used the
remote to start the car and it would start and immediately shut
down. When I tried to start the car with the key the theft
system light was illuminated. I have checked the black box
under the dash and there is no number on it that I can find.
The remote itself has the # CS 555 on it. I have not been using
the remote starter, just using the key. The theft light has since
gone away until last evening when I started it with the key and
drove into town to the store, before I left the store I tried the remote to start the car. It again started and immediately
shut down. The theft light returned. I opened the hood and
closed it, then stepped on the brake and left the key in the
ignition for around 15 mins and the theft light went away. I
then started it fine with the key. Don't want to go to far for
fear of being stranded when it is -30 with the wind chill of -40.
Not sure what to do next? Thanks for your help in advance!

It sounds like a bad connection on your bypass module. Check all connections on the bypass module:thumbsup:

Strugari,

My car has now quit completely, and I'am not sure if it is the
auto start interferring or another electrical problem??? Could
it be the starter? Thanks

Try disconnecting the Command Start module. See if you can find out which bypass module was used. It sounds like the bypass module has a bad connection.
You may have to disconnect the bypass module and wire the passlock wires back to factory to see if that is in fact the problem.
