can anyone help me out. I have a tach.. that likes to work when its freezing outside.. and then when it warms up it loses itself and stays at 0 rpm lol.. any ideas?? Is there something to replace or adjust?? i've tightened the plugs in the back of the cluster already.. so that is solved.. but still doesnt want to work all the time

any suggestions??

I had a 86 accord where the tach froze. It wouldnt move until it warmed up...
Did you not know your tach worked untill it froze??

Did you check voltage to the pins for the tach? If it's getting power, then your cluster is probably done. Time to buy a new one.

well it has been working for months... just swapped another cluster in there already.. all of a sudden it just wanted to die
and this was before it started to get real cold..

It could be a problem with whatever is sending the signal TO the tach. What kind of car is it? Do you know where the tach gets its signal by any chance?

On my 96 Van, the glue that held the guage backing down let go, and it would warp , everything would be ok when cold, but when warmed up, every needle would stick as the guage backing warped and touched the back of the needles... GM gayness...
