I was just wondering if anyone knows how to go about getting a block heater for a 97 bmw 328i.. i went to the dealership and they were pretty useless in providing any information for me. The guy told me they dont typically put them in bmw's.. espcially not the new ones. But with this weather we are having it doesnt make sense not to have one. If anyone knows where to get one and get it installed let me know

Thanks alot

They are 40 dollars i just bought one at bmw calgary yesterday. Replace your frost plug with it and away you go.

I have an E46 and I was told that putting a block heater in E46 may mess up with the engine software that takes temperatures into account.

(For example, the engine thinks that it is already warm when it is in fact not completely warm at all parts)

Is this true?
