Anyone notice any performance changes lately?

We switched some hardware around on Monday. Just wanted to see if anyone noticed anything. Please vote and leave some comments!

I thought it might have just been me or my machine...but I had noticed that as of late it was longer to respond.

ie you hit the post reply button and it would take a second or two to load the next page...But after this upgrades made earlier this week beyond is definetly quicker and smoother...

Great job server dudes...

Interesting to see that some people find it slower. Its a LOT faster for me since I'm here local to the server, wasn't sure about how big of a performance over the internet.

The only change we made really was this...

Quad-core CPU's FTW! Thanks to hampstor for hooking me up! Now get me 4 more!

I don't know if it's just my computer but it seems lately that the homepage is slower to load.

Pretty sure its just my shaw, but I have been noticing some long loads, smileys on the bottom, etc.. I'm betting its either my computer or my connection.

No, at work. Although it seems to be faster at times. It could just be our network.

I think its just me, but twice within the last week, when I type in www.beyond.ca, it says the website doesnt exist. I type in forums.beyond.ca and it does that some times as well. I usually close IE, open IE again, and its fine. :dunno:

your poll is biased in that only one option can be geared towards females.

But it's much faster than it takes me to finish jerking off to Lindsay Lohan, yay for upgrades!

The past week or two was ridiculous slow for me. It would sometimes take up to a minute between clicking the 'Submit Reply' button before it actually submitted. Now, it seems about the same as before, not really faster or slower, though I did click on the slower vote 'cause of my bad experiences in the last week or two.

Not only this, but I seem to get alot of half or 3/4 loaded pages, the bottom part of the page doesnt seem to want to load very often. (Although so far today there are no problems)

Just for clarification...

Are we talking about the pre-Anorexic Lohan or not?

that could be why it was so slow, it was faster before yesterday at noon or so.

that could be it

Lately, while the pages haven't been slow to load for me, once started, getting the page to load is a pain.

I'll click on a thread, and it can take up to a minute to actually go to that thread, but once there, the page loads normal.

We changed some stuff around on our load balancing DNS this morning, so it might take an hour or 2 for the world to see the new IPs. It should be fine by now though.

I haven't noticed anything since I posted.

rage2

haha no, I'm trying to test the performance of the CGI EXE vs the ISAPI DLL. So the cluster of servers are running different configurations right now.

I had to upgrade all our servers to 2k3R2 to comply with our microsoft licensing crap and just trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. I've already had 1 server under R2 for about a month now to see if it's stable before I upgraded all of 'em.

Slower... and ALOT of hang ups for me... I will be browsing around, ie, jump into a few threads no problem (however slower) and then next thread I try to enter, Beyond just stops responding for me.. Same problem when making posts... I have had this problem for the past couple days.. can't recall when it started, but monday sounds about right..

My Stats:

ISP: Shaw
Computer: Apple MacBook
Exlporer: Mozilla
