Has anyone else looked at the Ford Fusion? The girlfriend is looking for an auto, and I have been trying to find a decent awd car for her. She loved the Mazda 6 but wanted awd. Turns out the Fusion and the 6 are on the same platform, but you can get the Fusion in AWD. They seem to drive well, and they can look pretty decent too.

Before someone mentions the Speed6, that is what I drive, and it is not available in auto, and it takes 93 octane gas, two things she wont go for. Just wondering if anyone out there owns one, and what kind of fuel economy they are getting, as well as any trouble areas. Thanks

Sorry I don't know about the fusion...although I have not heard any bad things. Wierd for a Ford.

but what about the Subaru Legacy? AWD, base model takes 89 octane, auto transmission, I guess the look is dependent on the person. Comparable cost to the Speed6 and Fusion. Maybe less power.

Yeah the fusion is 215hp. And a full load is only $32k thats with everything. The Legacy is $40k for similar power and options.

The AWD fusion is in the 30's, you could get a base Legacy for that, which is better built, more comfortable, and will be worth more in a few years.

If I could go back in time, I would have boughten a Legacy instead of my mustang.

Has she considered the new Suzuki SX4 AWD? It's a pretty good price for a go-to car.

Just go and test drive the fusion, I did.... out of boardom haha. But I was actually impressed the car has a nice interior (for a domestic) and everything expect leather and sunroof are standard. Plus there are mad incentives to take a ford home right now I think there is like 2g cash back right at pos plus 0% financing. I was thinking about buying one but then i thought again:rofl:

SX4:She doesnt want a small car.

I did drive one as well, and was impressed. And your right about the incentives. A full load AWD off the lot with taxes and everything for around $32k

I tried to get her into a legacy, but the base model wasnt nice enough, and for the price of the se or XT she would rather have a murano.

Well I guess the decision has already been made for you... If you eliminated everything else.

The Fusion is probably one of the better Ford cars, hah. But yea, I don't think you could go wrong with one. And the reviews have generally been very good and surprised since it really is not like any other Ford vehicle out there.

Fusion it is!

I've been pleasantly surprised by the Fusion, it's actually quite nice. The interior is decent, as well.

She just drove one. Thought it reminded her of driving her grampas ford. Not good. Looks like finding her a new car is going to be much harder than I thought.:drama:
