Have you tried any vet clinics? Some offer boarding.

What dates?

They are all booked up on Christmas week but a smaller dog could stay in a cat kennel.

As soon as possible till Jan 4? That's like a whole month. It's gonna cost you. Do you have any friends with dogs who don't mind looking after the dog for you? Or you can try kennels outside the city.

What did you expect? Thats like showing up the day before Stampede and realizing that there arent any hotel rooms available.

I'll babysit your dog, he'll have a great time, at least 1 walk a day (hour) maybe 2, my family loves and misses my old dog, so we dont mind taking care of friends dogs, esp german sheps. $150/day + you provide the food and toys. we can negoitate or throw me an offer.

thanks for the offer but that is way out of my price range. kennels are around 10$ for extended stays. i think i might have found something though. 450 for the month

Might as well just get the dog its own hotel suite for that.

WTF!?!? You're dogs only 5 months old and your ABANDONING IT for a MONTH? :banghead: You don't deserve to own a fucking dog.

I would expect some serious issues to result of this, the foremost being seperation anxiety for the rest of his life.

I know it's so disgraceful... Why did you even buy one, did you even read that story about that one puppy that someone posted about, I would love for someone to post it for me. You dont just buy a dog, to say you have a dog. Their serious responsibility. Do you even take the dog for walks every day for at least 40 min? if you dont, you probably dont even deserve to him/her.

Yeah no shit. Unless this is some super must show or die family emergency, that lasts a month, I'd say SHAME on you. You obviously aren't mature enough for a dog. :thumbsdow

Gotta love all the high-horse conclusion-jumpers here. You guys are going off like the OP bought the dog just so they could leave it alone for a month. You guys don't even know why the poster has to leave town, but you're more than ready to crucify a person for it.

Not that I agree with leaving the pup alone like that, but so many people are too quick to flame these days.

Oh, well, here comes the flame bandwagon.

Well... Chrsitmas is coming up. And it sounds like she has had something planned, or had planned for a while, but just started to look for a kennel as of recently. I'm also willing to bet the 20 bucks in my pocket that she's an A:impulse buyer, and B: had no idea what she was getting into when she bought a dog. I'd say I've got a pretty safe bet, any takers?

I'm going to agree with you but Beserker does have a point, for all we know whe could be leaving town to rescue a truckload of starving puppies.

This is the internet... everyone is Guilty until Proven innocent :D

(You are right though, it could be a family emergency or something, but so close to xmas, the first thing that pops into my head is mexican vacation)
