Don't go to Embarcadero for oysters. I went there with a friend and his gf for dinner and lets just say we were on the $hitter a few hours after that. If you want raw oysters, go to Red Door Bistro just right beside the Keg on 11th Ave. http://www.reddoorbistro.com/ They offer oyster happy hour everyday between 5-7pm I believe.

What kind of food/atmosphere are you looking for?

I'm sure almost anywhere will accomodate you if you call in advance.

sorry about u and your friends experience! i can honestley say that ive never had or anyone i know had a bad experience there and i frequent the resturant pretty often!

ive heard about red door bistro! ill have to check it out!

EDIT - their menu is "safe" bistro fare... some dishes could be real winners if executed correctly!

is this the place that opened with the past year or so?

im gonna give it a go over x-mas when im back in town!

White food I guess. A place like Joey's or Earl's or something like that but not as generic.

Price doesn't matter that much. Just as long as it isn't like 50 for a la carte steak or something.

Actually, I was thinking that too but I called the Met for a reso on Friday and they refused it. Citing that it's holiday season and it's gonna be busy and what not and it's difficult to accommodate 10-15 ppl. :dunno:
