Can someone help me with a few fitment issues. I would like the wheel to look "flush" with the body. When it comes to wheel sizes and offsets I get really confused.

The stock offset on my car is 38+ with 15x7 rims.

I currently have a set of 17x7.5" 48+ rims with a set of 15mm spacers, effectively making the offset 33+. As they are right now they fit pretty good. There is about 1cm of clearance between the tire and the rear fender. Tires are 215/45/17.

I am thinking of upgrading in the spring to a set of 18x8" wheel. I want to try and go with 8" wide wheels for traction issues. I would like to try and run some 235 or maybe 245 if I could. (without rubbing issues)

What offset should I look for for 8" wheels? What about 7.5" wheels? I was thinking somewhere around 40+. Does that sound right?

BTW car is lowered approx 1.75" all around.

Cheers!

what type of car is it first of all???

plus there is a huge difference between a rwd and fwd offset

use this to calculate your clearance cause the last thing you want is to buy a set of new wheels with to high of an offset and need spacers again.
