help! how do i get my favicon to work?

Hello,

I've been trying to put a favicon on my website but can't get it to work. basically I just put a 16x16 favicon.ico file in the root directory of my site. However, it isn't appearing. Is there more to it than this? Can anyone suggest a good tutorial or something? I tried google and most say to just put the favicon.ico in the root directory.

try deleting your temp intnernet files and reloading the page

here try this you can place this in images or your root if you choose, reason yours isnt work is because the code is incorrect or the file isnt valid, try downloaded an icon creator program...but try this first.

place this tag with your metatags

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" >

if you place it in images folder {

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="images/favicon.ico" >
}
