hi guys, I downloaded Civilization 4, since I can't find a place (where I'm currently staying) that sells it. I downloaded it as a lump 737MB ISO file, but I know how of how to break that down, or what I can do to create a playable game... any suggestions? I'm running Windows XP home.
Are there any "stock" Xp programs that I can use for this? or what should I download?

I think you need to download Daemon tools and mount the ISO image. Then it should work?

daemon tools. An ISO is a disk image, and can be read by mounting it in a "virtual drive", like what the program I named does. I found this one works best, but there are others like Alcohol 120%....

sorry for the high jack but i had the same problem... well not exact though

my file is .ico for the icon and the file that i need to be reconized by the comp as a disc is .rfl

daemon tools wont work with this icon type so what program will help me out or should i just give up?

Also, to the OP, you can just burn the iso file using nero or whatever burning program you have.. once you burn the iso image it will be the original game disc.

PowerISO...works perfectly in XP.

ISOBuster will extract the image (save the cd in dir on your hdd)
then you can even run it of your hdd is the root dir is correct
much better to burn iso file to cd for improved read time as less cpu usage...

Daemon is the easiest but if your pc is not memory abundant it will run the cd slow on a "virtual" drive constantly reading off your hdd and you wolll lose quality just burn it onto a cd using any image burning software and it will run better

Big thanks for the responses, greatly appreciated.

Well I installed Dameon tools, but I dont know how to "work it" so to speak. It says the Civ 4 ISO is loaded up in 'Device 0' But it doesn't give me any other concrete options such as "run ISO" or anything like that, it just idles in this mode, not doing anything.

now what?:nut: does anybody have any walkthroughs of any sort, big thanks guys.

you can't be serious.

Why don't you have a look at my computer... you might see the mounted drive.

Maybe have a look at the instructions before you install something.

I am serious, I'm obviously not as good at computers as you guys are, which is no biggie. It sure makes forum's like this useful.

Well, I checked "my computer" and it said that the "E drive" is corrupted, does that mean there are files (of some sort) missing?
