Its a super sharp and fast lens.

In digital you get 300mm for F2.8 :eek:

what kind of photography would you predominantly use this lens for?

The 80-200mm F2.8 is a Pro len with super fast speed.

You could use it for portrait for shallow depth of field and in low light or for sports action shots in low light where flashes are not allow.

Most pros use this lens for the optical quality and speed.

At the 80mm end you'd be 120mm which can be used for close up crops of a person shoulder and head shots.

At the 200mm end you'd be at 300mm so it'd be for sports or wild life photgraphy.
