the car is a 94 accord ex-r automatic....there are a lot of weird problems with it...

-no first gear
-tranny shifts really hard "sometimes" and takes time to hunt for a gear
-while driving, the electricity dies intermittently...like needles dip and lights dim
-the "d4" indicator for the gear indicator flashes

so wtf is up? tommorrow im gona make sure theres enuff atf in there and that theres no major corrosion on the batt terminals...what else?

This could be an indication that it needs a rebuild, especially if it wasn't serviced regularly. As for the electrical qurkiness, could be a short/grounding out in the power lead to the speedo assy.

If there is enough fluid in there that sounds like a you need your valve body replaced.

As for the electrical problem, if it's not a short could be the alternator belt slipping, check the belt tension.

LOL thats it? Weird. Mind you Honda's are known for having weird electrical problems that are less then easy to diagnose. At least you didn't have to spend the money to get a new trans.
