Ok so here it is...the thread some of you have been asking for, some have been waiting for and some don't give two shits about haha. A few friends and people have seen the pics. A few close friends have seen the progress in person. But here is the culmination of all of the secrecy and weirdness haha...I also wanna apologize, and thank the homies. I kind of just dropped off the face of the earth...but man oh man I was so depressed...EK was EMO!!...But thanks guys for being totally cool again when I made my comeback...

On August 18th, 2006 I was involved in a traffic accident. I am not gonna get into details about that. But it was stupidity on my part and that left me in a position of losing my Hollie forever, or making her badder than ever. And by bad, I mean good, you know how sick is not sick like the flu, or SARS, but like sick is like...daaaayyymmmm ya hurrd me??...hahaha so yeah, here we go.

I am not gonna post pics of how Hollie was before the accident as I mean we all know, and there are pictures floating around beyond and Honda Tech. But I will post how she looked after the collision and the process of rebuilding her, the processes, the hard work put in by Dan, and Dave at Screamin Paintworks. Before I do go ahead and post these pics though, I would like to thank Dan and Dave. They put up with my questions, my numerous visits to take pics. Waiting on my lazy ass to get parts to them, and did I mention all the questions I had along the way?? I was a lil worried that at one point Dan was gonna be like "Get out of my shop!!" But, he was a trooper and for that and for the, hard work, and for the end result of Hollie's transformation I thank him.

Here are the pics, all of them are clickable to make them a little bigger for better views...

These are pics of the aftermath of the collision. They really don't show the severity of the impact...as a few friends can attest to seeing the car in person after...but yeah. This is what got the ball rolling. It was a busted headlight, crumpled hood, messed up bumper cover, bent rad support. And because of the hood getting messed up, it affected the fenders as well.

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build21.jpg

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build22.jpg

Here the new rad support was installed and clamped on for placement and waiting for a lil tacking. I am not gonna focus on that part of the repair in this thread...I have a ton of pics I snapped, but the purpose essentially of the project was the rust repair. So we will have more of a following of that procedure.

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build19.jpg

And then here is the front ready and waiting for the rest of the car to be finished...

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build2.jpg

At one of the first discussions Dan and I had we were kind of both hoping that the rear 1/4 panel rust we both knew was there, would be able to be patched up. For two reasons mainly. First off, I wanted the car back for October 7th for SCC and secondly, to reduce the shock to EK 2.0's wallet haha...But as most of us here know...it NEVER works out that way haha...his was how the drivers 1/4 panel looked after taking away a bit of the paint and some body filler....

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build20.jpg

So, Dan informs me of this...and what does Arif do?? Decides...fuck it, let's replace both 1/4's...haha...Arif is MUY LOCO mang!! And that brings us here...

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build17.jpg

What's that you ask on the Honda box??...Well, there were two boxes and they contained...

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build8.jpg

And...

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build18.jpg

Wowsahs!!...New OEM!! So Dan then sighed the biggest sigh ever, shook his head, and got to cutting haha...

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build14.jpg

And while in the shop, a mutual friend of both Redlyne_mr2 and I dropped by the shop to see Hollie and leave me a message.

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build16.jpg

EK 2.0

But Dan, he kept working and finally uncovered what we both knew was there, but didn't want to acknowledge haha...

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build13.jpg

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build10.jpg

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build11.jpg

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build12.jpg

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build.jpg

and I figured...hey since I am essentially getting rid of Hollie's cancer, why not the body hair too??...So, we shaved...Yeah got rid of her antenna.

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build9.jpg

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build7.jpg

And so...Dan started to put Hollie back together...Drivers 1/4 in place ready for welding...

And needless to say...we did the same to the passenger side...I say "we" like I was there doing the work haha...But, nope...I wasn't haha.

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build5.jpg

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build4.jpg

And then...started making Hollie pretty again. Primered as so Dan can start pulling and fixing any dents or imperfections...

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build3.jpg

Dan said the body was pretty strait, no real issues aside from the roof having a dish to it. But Dan my man, took care of that for Hollie. Then...the spraying started. I decided, (and Dan can attest to this) after a LOT of different colours and combinations (Man I wanted Arctic Camo, John Deere Green, Silver, Black, Flat Black, Piano Gloss Black, Red, Yellow, Blue, Imola Red, Grey, I even wanted to keep it just primer after I saw how that looked.), to keep the Championship White for a few reasons. It's a clean colour, my engine bay is already that shade, it and looks sooo sharp. Plus as richardchan2001 would say OEM FTW haha. Dan sprayed the door jambs as well as the rear hatch area (which was covered in undercoating) for me.

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build23.jpg

12-16-2006, 11:10 PM
And then...Friday the 1st of December I get a call from the body shop. And Dan informs me that my baby is sprayed. The trim, mirrors, front and rear bumpers, side skirts and lips are not done yet, but the car is sprayed. And that if I wanted to come down and bring my "Kodak" then I should. So of course I do, and this is what I see...

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build25.jpg

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build26.jpg

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build27.jpg

And in the booth at the same time was a piano...or was it??

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build24.jpg

No it wasn't...it was my black roof...haha...

The Rota's on there are still green...Just a VERY dark shade and depending on angle and lighting, they are a Royal Green, or Black looking...

All in all the whole thing was about 3 months...But having said that...for me it wasn't a priority to get the car back...so they were able to take their time. I am sure if it was their main focus and only job that they would have had it out in far less than that...

hahaha...I was worried about that. The price Dan gave me for all the work was very VERY fair. And unfortunately I will not divulge that here as every job he will take on is different. And, the last thing I want is peeps to have beef with Dan cause he did this job for this price and that job for that price. As well as I supplied a LOT of my own parts...Hood, 1/4's and lil parts here and there so yeah...

That is the single most :bigpimp: thing I have ever seen on beyond.

The car looks like it came out awesome. It's nice to see cars get built properly from the ground up, instead of seeing all those modded cars with temporary rust repair and cracked fibreglass bodykits.

+1 for OEM FTW

Oh yes, and a quick question, do you have any idea around the price Screamin' would charge for a paintjob? Have all the actual bodywork done on my car, just need another spray of primer and paint. If you dont know do you have a contact email or anything for them?

Thanks muchly and once again absolutely AMAZINGLY clean ride!

i can actually attest to all the rust on the car too. in the bodyshop thread, i mention that dan took me to the back and explained exactly what he would do to my car, i didn't realize it till now, dunno why i didn't recognize the car before, but he was actually showin me on arif's car. he brought me to the car, brought me to one side and was showin how from the outside it doesn't look like much rust but as soon as we start sanding it down and gettin underneath we find a lot more, as he was saying this he grabbed a screw driver and started stabbing the 1/4 panel and chipping the paint/metal off revealing more rust. in my head i was like, "oh damn, what is he doing to the guy's car. then he brought me over to the other side where the panel was already off and i saw this:

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build13.jpg

http://members.shaw.ca/ek20/build10.jpg

"this is what we usually find with that kind of rust" he said, "this particular client decided to replace both of his 1/4 panels with new ones" and when he showed me the new 1/4 panels, i realized the ones he was stabbing were pretty much garbage anyways so it justified the "stabbing" haha. i seriously don't know how i didn't recognize it was your car arif, especially since your car is the only car i know that has a green "speed" in "speedtech". but i guess it's cuz i didn't know you had THAT much rust on your car.

anyways, everybody knows championship white in pics ain't shit compared to seeing it in person, so i could only imagine how it looks like in person, i wanna see it. can't wait to see my car when it's done, even tho, the work gettin done to mine ain't as extensive as yours. good job Screamin' Paintworks!

Despite me not being much of a Honda hatch fan, this car turned out really nicely, I like the color scheme. See if you can get a better offset in the back, get that shit flush buddy!!

Is screaming paintworks really busy? How long does it take to get a non insuance job in and out?

That looks great, looks like alot of care went into it, and it seems like you were treated like royalty.

Your best bet is to give Dan or Dave a call...291-3171...they can give you time frames. And they treated me amazing...as any other customers I saw them deal with...

Arif if you got a single wiper conversion, I'm going to fly home just to key your car.
*EDIT*
No way... After a second thought, I refuse to believe you'd even think about it.
There must be an explanation....

This is exactly what I went through last year. Accident casue repairs...repairs found rust... pulled off the quarter pannel to find more rust. i did the same process, except on my 240. The pictures are pure dejavu. Good on ya for keeping the ambition going.

Looks great man!

Screamin is the place!

Im the guy with the integra with the same paint scheme, that was done as yours was going in.

I also love my black roof and cf

Wait for spring meets and people will think we have some kind of black and white team going or something!

My job was the same as yours.

New HONDA lower 1/4's
New HONDA fenders
New HONDA bumper's
New glass
all shaved moldings and ant.

Dan and Dave did more than they had to, treated me great, and the price was MORE than fair!!
Thanks again guys!
