Well we all knew it was coming sooner or later. J-Spec Imports has just listed its first lancer evo for import to Canada. Legal in November 2007 at a cost of $8400

as bitchin as Evos are, I am still not sure I want one badly enough that I would overlook it being RHD

I wouldn't mind RHD, it's not that bad, but I think i'd rather wait for the EVO X just because, it'll be out of the dealership. Sure, it might be watered down, not everyone would like the styling, but I've always been edgy about iimporting. It seems to be hit or miss.

i know quite a few people with rhd drive cars. Its not bad driving them, you just need to get used to it. Of course turning left is sometimes difficult, but not as dangerous as you would think. Passing someone on a undivided highway is slightly harder, as you cant see if someone is coming the other way. An easy way to tell is to pull to the right, check, then pass on the left.

Over $50,000 and I wouldn't want to modify it due to losing my waranty would be the problem with the Evo X, so I guess buying both is the solution.

I wonder if you can get a LHD version from Sweden or somewhere else in Europe.

Ya, but I wouldn't want to mod it too much anyways... And a possible solution for that (seen it done, not often) is return it to stock for warranty work

Anyone know any common reliability issues with this year and model?

Probably the same as a DSM, since it's the same powertrain.

Basically, yes.

A lot of DSMer's use "Evo" parts, mostly Evo 3's (Turbos, manifold, injectors, etc). Granted, there are a few differences. But for the most part, an Evo and a DSM could be considered "brothers".

Engine is the same for sure, I imagine the trannies are quite similar, diffs, etc.

Every EVO still uses the Talon engines; they're just a little more powerful from the factory now.
