For Sale: 1995 Ford Escort GT $500

pics soon

~150,000kms

the good:

white on blue
5 speed
power steering
power brakes
cruise
factory CD
recent tires
some recent brake work
good shape interior, not dirty

the bad:

-2nd and 3rd gear do not work (I have shifted from 1st to 4th for the last year), I don't know much about transmissions otherwise I would have a new one from pick your part (put in a 90-92 for better gear ratio)
-it was in 3 accidents
-the front of the car is still unrepaired from the last accident:
-little bend in the hood
-the bumper is tilted and broken
-the bumper paint is cracked
-the grill is cracked in half. The headlights and radiator are fine (I have driven it like this for about 3 years)
-big crack in the windsheild (not in the drivers eyeline though).
-the drivers door has been switched to a new one (the window was smashed - replaced the entire door from pick your part).
-the rear passenger window is smashed - it had a beer bottle thrown through it, it is cleaned up and has a plastic window. I was unable to get one of the bolts holding the window in place when it was -45 C which is why I broke down and bought a new car (and this one is for sale) ~$15 for a new one at pick your part.
-fuel gauge doesn't work (I refill every 400kms to be safe)
-rear defrost button doesn't stay down

HISTORY:
Bought it in '99, I believe it was a fleet vehicle in the US and then
it moved here to the second owner (that is what I think).

Wasn't well taken care of by the original owner, had to do a deep clean of the car, oil was low and black, one of the windows had to be replaced (there were scratches),

As for reliability here are the only repairs I have had in the 7 years I owned it: oil changes, 1 new set of tires all around, the air intake sensor, and brakes. Super reliable although it is probably one of the ugliest cars in Calgary, it makes an awesome winter beater, I drove it to Saskatoon and back 2 times last summer with no problems.
---------
As for the 3 accidents,
one before I bought the car in '99 (the previous owner didn't tell me about it, but then the bondo started cracking)

the second happened when I was rear ended by an old man at a crosswalk - as a bonus they also fixed the cracking bondo from the previous accident with a brand new panel.)

the third accident was a multicar pile up where I rear ended a car, it hasn't been fixed (I was not rear ended), I have the accident sticker etc for this crash.
--------
I want this car gone asap, if you are a mechanic there is a chance for some money here as this could be flipped for $2000-4000 if it was fixed up. It has low kms but looks a lot worse for wear - the perfect winter car.

$500 firm

it can be driven home, if it isn't sold by the beginning of January I will be having it taken away by one of the charities.

as a heads up, you can turbo this engine and get about 200hp @ the wheels - this is the mazda BP engine, you can use turbo parts from a BP-T)
