Does anyone on beyond have a working modified HD-dvd drive in their computer?

I was wondering when we might see hd drives released for the computer. I think the blue ray is available for pc's!

For 1080 p tv's how does the conversion thing work with the Toshiba drives? The drive outputs 720 p? Does the tv then upconvert to 1080p or does it display the 720p without conversion?

thnx

Toshiba HD-Dvd players output in 1080i, and if youre 1080p TV
has a good De-interlacer (JVC and Sony are GREAT) then you'll
never know the difference between 1080i and 1080p even if you
look very very very hard.

Tv's will display at the native Res regardless of signal quality going
into the tv.

So the Toshiba Hd-DVD will look the same on my Sony SXRD(1080P) as the Blu-Ray player?!

It should.

Does anyone know if the HDDVD for 360 upconvert regular DVD? I know the 360 by itself does not.

the 360 by itself does. it was added as a firmware update a few months back.

the hd-dvd add-on outputs in 1080p natively.

you might need the vga cable for those though.

oh nice.

I haven't updated my 360 in about 2 months. It is sitting in a condo without cable or internet. Just a nice 42" plasma.

Damn VGA is so expensive... might have to wait for an aftermarket version.

haha, I am cheap.

my friend was telling me those cables suck ass anyways, so you're better off waiting. I'm just using the component cables that came with the 360, and the HD-DVD is beautiful!
