problems with using starter, locks open, trunk opens just that the car wont start using the starter..Had it installed by Derdall desins cant get a hold of someone there..anyone here able to help.

When you try and start the car, the lights will flash 3 times, there will be a slight pause,then they will flash 1-7 times after that. In the owners manual it will telll you what the 1-7 times means. This might give you an idea of what is happening.

I had a problem with mine turning over and not starting. It had to do with the brain.

Make sure the unit is not in "Valet mode":thumbsup:

I'd say it sounds like Valet mode too. Usually under the steering wheel cover area.

compustar's don't have a valet switch, either press the key combo on the remote.. or relearn the remotes.. ign on off 5 times, and then press lock on each remote..

check your ebrake if its up.. check your hood pin.. check your doors.... trunk... not in valet mode.. try resetting it..

sorry to bring back an old thread. Wtf happened to Derdall Designs, and why are they still a 'paid sponser'? Anyways thats besides the point- If the guy is no longer in business, where can I get a new compustar remote for a decent price?

Try Visions, the NUSTART, Arctic Start, or Compustar transmitters are the same.:thumbsup:
