HWY 1 at COP to Stoney Trail closed

Ok, so im driving hyway 1, as i get to the intersection where the cops are, the light turns red. I am heading westbound. The cop pulls in front of 4 lanes, and starts wavin us by, it wasnt a checkstop. We just had to go around. It only blocked traffic westbound.

Coming back eastbound, I saw cops poking around in ditch with lights..... shrug.

yeah we made a run to childrens hospital last night for a 3 hour wait there, daughter fractured her finger. But we were surprised coming home that it was blocked off we ended up going through bowness and coming back up Stoney to get home. With kids in the car we didn't stop to ask what was up, cause you never know what the answer will be.

So here is what I found on QR77

Gunplay in northwest Calgary Saturday night sent one man to hospital with minor injuries.
Calgary Police Duty Inspector Keith Pollock says police responded to reports of gunshots at around 9:45 p.m. in the area of 16th Avenue at Stoney Trail northwest.
But when they arrived, everyone had taken off, and all police found were bullet casings.
However, soon after that, a man showed up at the Foothills Hospital with a minor gunshot wound.
Pollock says it appears someone fired shots after two or three vehicles pulled over along 16th Avenue.
It's possible two of the vehicles boxed the third one in, forcing it to the side of the road.
