im thinkn of a canon sd630 so far...should i be looking at any other brands?

there have been many threads on this topic.

i just purchased the canon sd600 for 269.99 before christmas for myself and i absolutely love it. my ex had the same model last year and she loved it.

The sd630's a good bet. similar features to the SD600, but you get a smaller screen, a slightly faster burst rate and the menu wheel is touch sensitive. I believe futureshop was selling that model for 329.99 last week.

berserkercatsplat (sp) reccomends the fuji f30, he's got more ethos than I when it comes to talking about photography/cameras :thumbsup: ... i believe it's slightly above your price range, but there's a ton of very good reviews online about the f30.

The SD630 has a bigger screen and no optical viewfinder.
