DAMN ,SOLD!!fs is my 2nd love. 1990 5.0 mustang. This car is an original airdrie bought car still with key tags. I bought this car in august of this year and am only selling cause i am moving to rural bc and can't drive it there. The car is a silver lx model,5spd,always synthetics. Has never been winter driven and it really shows. ps,pw,pl,sunroof. 92,000 original km with less than 10k on all mods and fully redone motor. Here's the mods list:

I'm sure i am forgetting some stuff. no rust anywhere at all, paint in good shape for 16 yr old car, not faded. Flawlessly maitained etc. Must see to appreciate. No test drive on snow or rain. Car dyno'd 242rwhp,275rwtq before underdrive pulleys and exhaust. price is $13,000. Should easily appraise at over 20k. Was appraised when stock 8 years ago at 12,000. will post pics, but its in the garage right now, so pics are a little limited, thanks. this car was built for a supercharger which hasn't been done yet. I've been looking at the novi 1000 for about 3 grand. The dealers i've been talking with say the car should easily throw down 400 rwhp after this, but i have no way to prove it. Suiper fun to drive as it is though, and i get a billion compliment a day from 5.0 fans.

242 hp is actually very strong for a stock 5.0. they are not as fast as people think. 15.0+ stock.

225 flywheel hp stock, 180 rwhp stock is about right sorry to burst your ford bubble. 242 rwhp built for a supercharger seems like a good build.

Good luck on the sale man.

Lol, I agree. A healthy 5.0 should put down 180-185 rwhp on a mustang dyno.

Sounds like a nice ride. Like others have said, pics will help for sure.

i'll get some pics up today hopefully, stock 5.0 pwr was 225hp at the fly wheel, this is 242at the rear wheels, and the dyno is before underdrive pulleys and some exhaust. This is also without the supercharger. it hasn't had one put on yet, just is perfectly ready for it. Don't forget the good rear wheel torque of 275 ftlbs guys. Anyways, i'll get some pics up later today, thanks for the comments.

242rwhp does seem a little low for a trickflow kit , unless you only have the upper and lower intake. Stock heads? or do you have the twisted wedges?

these 5.0 motors suck at breathing , a set of heads on this car will bold on 40-50 rwhp.

Car looks very clean good luck with the sale , is this on performance shop aswell?

has the twisted wedge heads, i have not had it dyno'ed since i bought it, just going with previous owners info, by the way, i have 12 grand in receipts for all the parts, and all information packets for them too. I think with a re tune and a dyno again it could definately put out more. Keep in mind that 242 rear wheel hp was before underdrives and exhaust according to previous owner. Come check it out, its really really clean!

k u keep saying without the underdrive pulleys and exhaust. That will be like an extra 20 horse.

frank grimz, i'm not trying to justify anything here, just pointing it out, if your not interested in the car, could you please be respectful of my for sale thread, thanks.

The previous owner who had it, said he had it dynoed at 242rwhp and it was stock? :dunno:

dinglenuts

no, not at stock, dyno'd at current mods, less the pulleys and catless exhaust, the previous owner was #2, he had the car for 7 years from owner #1, he bought it stock and didd all the mods except for stereo system, he sold it to me in august ish of this year when he found his dream car(67 nova). Mine was a 5.0 from my high school days. The previous owner did all mods, bought and had them installed at the mustang shop. They apparently know the car very well. He did tell me the 42 lb injectors were a bit big for n/a, it will run a little rough for a minute or two when not started for a long time, but he put the big 42's in for the novi, until he sold the car to me after finding the one he always wanted. Any more q's will be answered later today, going for a dog walk:)

Have the cam and pistons been replaced to match the heads ,intake, and supercharger that was planned?

dinglenuts
12-28-2006, 08:20 PM
stock cam, stock pistons, these bottom ends are known for holding strong at 10psi of boost, the roller rockers have up'd the rev range and the rods are stronger now to accomodate. I'm not sure if i mentioned that all gaskets, rings etc were redone when the rods and heads were changed, and the car only had 81000km to begin with. Its plenty strong for the type of chargers he and i were looking at. If you were looking to go 15 psi or something, then pistons would probably be a good investment, but with a novi 1000, it'd be tons of fun as is. Thing is, its fun and quite fast now, when i bought it i got up to 200kph in no time at all. Car has lots of torque, pulls very hard and sounds like a 400 big block, come hear it.:bigpimp:

does it leak oil? i noticed u have a cardboard under it

dinglenuts
12-30-2006, 12:45 PM
had an 86 cavalier that parked there for 2 years, the cavalier leaked almost as fast as oil went in, its actually a sheet of plywood on the floor, but the mustang does not leak oil. When you look under the car, it looks like its 2 years old, thing is in excellent condition.
