So I was invited to go bonefishing (bonefish) down here on Great Exuma (bahamas) and it was freak'n fun.
Our guide was a 2 time Bahamian fly fishing champion who took us on a 40min boat ride to a location called RolleTown Flats.
The water is 10"-15" deep for miles and these bonefish swim in packs of 3-5. Their fins protrude above the water and that's about the only way to see them.
We left the boat and walked barefooted on the flats tracking schools of fish. It seemed more like hunting then fishing until we positioned ourselves in the path of a school approaching us with their fins twitching in the air as they searched for crabs on the bottom. We had to duck down and be quiet as we sent out flys out at them.
These fish fight HARD. The one I caught took off sideways at about 40km/h and my line was singing through the water. The best part was that we could see the fish trying to make it's escape since the water was so shallow.
At one pointe I turned around and saw what I thought was a huge bonefish approaching us, but it was a lemon shark. We didn't have anywhere to go (we're pretty much in the middle of a desert with 1' of water. The shark came over and then went away but I had my eye out for it the rest of the day. Once, I was whipping the line back and forth and on a backswing I head a big splash behind me. The lemon shark had been approaching me from behind and my fly had hit it as it was about 15' behind me and scared it away.
Some pics(I'm using a borrowed laptop so the colors may be messed up):
