what car would u do up

with the 1991 240sx with a rb25det, front mount intercooler, exhaust, downpipe and add more things later on like ecu and bigger turbo

with the 1995 integra.. k20 swap or fully build a gsr motor or a type r motor

whice one is best to do and will go the fastest..
what will be easy on the wallet?

k20 swaps are :bigpimp:

240sx would rape integra in every possible way, with rb25 done up. To build an integra that would take that out..would be hard on teh wallet. A lightly massaged rb25 can make upwards of 400 hp...

should this question actually be asked?

rb >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>k20

i dropped a rb25 into my skyline, and never looked back. i dropped a gsr motor into my teg awhile a back, and was looking for more power.
240sx RB25 all the way

A nicely built sr20 doesnt hurt either. My friend is putting down 260 to the wheels on a mustang dyno...and thats on a rough tune cuz his o2 sensor bung was wrong, so we had to sample from the tail end of the pipe.

350 to the wheels is the goal

Taking it from person experience, the RB power band in a 240 is the smoothest power I have ever driven, it's awesome! RB's are very very responsive to mods as well

RB > K20

But... personally i'd still do the teg.... because... how many people in calgary have done a Teg k20 swap and how many 240 owners have done RB swaps?

Who cares what everyone else has, Depends on what his goals are with the car. If he wants cheapest and fastest. Let's say he has 10K to put into the car after buying the shell, The 240 is going to be considerably faster than a Teg. If its going to be a daily driver and needs more reliable economy, the Teg is better.

and that's what i said... i just said personally what i would do... :dunno:

240s are faster than tegs... i just happen to like em

don't waste your money on a 240sx

in the long run, the integra is a smarter choice

word. $35 bucks a gas tank FTW!!! oppose to $60 every x days depending on how hard u drive it!!

depends on ur preference

and of course... BUDGET

With power is allways gonna be fuel consumption. It all depends on the tune as well. My friend is getting 400k to his 42$ 240sx tank, with a lil fun in there. when he switches to 13 psi hes making 260 hp to the wheels....then it drinks quite a bit more...but at 7 psi...he can daily drive it and still get decent mileage. But..u cant beat honda mileage. But there is the crossroads.....where you need to decide..do i want speed..or mileage...can i come up with a good mix of the two....

The RB25 would still be fater. If your not too worried about gas milage go with the RB25 you will not be dissapointed.

Do you plan on winter driving it? cause that would narrow down the options right there. Personally I would do a K20 integra

It would take a lot of $$$ for a K20 beat an RB25, If you put the same money into the RB it will be faster than a K20.

Proove that a K20 could beat an RB25 thats been modified with close to the same amount of money!

Maybe its time for me to build a K20 instead???:poosie:

smarter choice in the long run? think hes going to actually keep it for 10+ years?
lets say he does the k20. how long do you think he will have it till he gets bored of the lack of power and money spent making it 300hp+? not that long. i can bet you anything that he will want a new car in less than 3 years with it.
say he goes RB... think of the fun you could have with it and the amount of power he can push out of it. get sick of it? swap a RB26,VG,VQ :P
240's have so many changes that can be made to it if you want. you wont get bored of it ever.

i've owned and driven both cars and i'm sticking with my 240.

240's are freaking fad car's

they do get boring. and how much you spend on gas is stupid especially for a daily driver. I liked 240's but now all the owners out there make them have such a bad name. If he wants to dump the cash into a pos go for it, i highly would not reccomend it cause even if he did a b series swap its a little more practical and alot more reliable.

go for the teg it will have the best resale value in the end & save you more on fuel.

With a B18 turbo kit a teg can be made just as fast ;)

K20 Turbo!!!!

go ahead...youll have to upgrade the injectors and fuel system...and then youre gonna guzzle just as much gas. No matter what, 4, 6, 8 cyls, youre gonna need the same gas and the same air to make the same power.....the only way it will be better than the rb26 is at idle, where you would tune it lean.....other than that....your purpose would be defeated.

If its mileage and daily driver purpose....leave the integra stock...and drive it to work and back. If its power youre looking for, rb all the way

k20 turbo, and rolling start u might beat it.....
ff cant launch worth crap

Cheeze

Depends on what mods you do to a rb. rb is good to 400+

ive heard numbers as high as 500 or more on a stock bottom end with the right tune.......how much money do you need to sink into a k20 to get that power

pistons
rods
sleeves+machining
supporting mods to run the turbo including injectors, fuel pump, standalone/good piggyback

its plain to see for power rb25 is a better choice

I see just as many civics and integras on the fastest cars in Alberta as I do RB cars over the years.

Why is that? There are/were B series cars on this very site pushing 200 - 400 whp. You can get decent power out of both it's matter of preference what route you go.

I don't think Cheeze was saying it was impossible or extremely difficult to get higher hp numbers out of a b-series engine. But with RB's, they are very responsive and IMHO a lot stronger of an engine, meaning internals is one less thing to worry about. Getting hp in the RB will be CHEAPER than the b-series engine, it's that simple.

thats exactly what i was saying. With all the money you would need to invest in a honda motor.....and the suspension setup necissary to make it actually get traction and NOT shake the drivers teeth out of his skull....you could have an rb running 11 seconds or less for half the cash
