A stock Ferrari F430 like that probably wouldnt spit flames. Im sure there is some sort of modification you have to do to get the car to spit flames like that. It would be pretty cool to do though.

Theres two cars I know of that do this in Calgary

Cobra2.3? Mustang

They did not hook anything up but are at the power level where this happens.

well who ever wants to know how to flame there car and cook
there rice heres how its done

The flame kit comprises of a small electronic circuit fitted in a small box ,a ignition coil, a plug and a Igniting button.

The small circuit is installed in the dash (or anywhere u like) and the ignition coil in the trunk. A single spark plug is installed in the exhaust just 2 inches from the end. This is connected to the ignition coil which in turn is controlled by the small circuit.

When u push the button while revving hard, the engines plugs go dead and the engine runs for 4-5 sec's on its momentum . When the plugs go dead , the whole air fuel mixture goes into the tail pipe which when meets the plug there ignites it.

These kits make up to 5 feet of flame depending on the engine size and exhaust.

Hope u found this usefull ;.....

Cheerz!

Didn't think power had much to do with it.

NSX shoots flames a bit, but it doesn't have cats. I thought those played a big role in flame-shooting.

i thought that exhaust flames were created by unburned fuel coming out the exhaust...guess im completely wrong?

my friends AE86 does it too, I think its because he gutted the cat... its not really like flames though, more like loud ass small fireballs.

No, you're right. The sparkplug/ignition cut method is a way of causing that condidtion.

it looked more like alcohol flames tho like the top fuel dragsters, not plain burning gas

OR you could just buy a flaming kit for like $120 and shoot flames yourself, cause thos eflames in the movie were like a couple feet long, no real cars gonna do that. SOME EXCEPTIONS

I was unaware there was a "power level" where you shoot flames. Alot of cars have way more "power" and don't shoot flames.

The car does it stock. It does it between fast gear shifts, only with the F1 transmission.

Eww, no offense, but I would NOT want to dump that much raw fuel through my turbos, or through a cat. If you want to do it right (completely illegal, and for show of course), then put a fuel injector, and spark plug near the exhaust tip.

With that being said, I'm sure the Miami Vice scene is special effects. You could theoretically get flames like that if you're running a slow burning fuel (94+ octane, methanol, ethanol, other racing fuels), with a short exhaust system, and some high revs. With those conditions, chances are the fuel will still be burning as it exits. Good luck keeping EGTs in normal ranges for very long though.

E36M3 is correct. The stock F430 F1 does shoot blue flames in Race mode or with the CST off, but I've never seen flames that length out of the stock exhaust. They probably upgraded the exhaust or "enhanced" it in the FX dept.

I never noticed it until someone was videotaping it from behind in the dark. The flames seem to be just as big as on the movie, although those may not be real.
