I just picked up an IPOD nano from Futureshop (display model, nothing but the unit/manuals/and cord.

I looked over the apple website and cant find anything about how to install it. I have the latest edition of itunes, but i keep getting a "USB device not recognized". Is there a driver I need to install? And where can I find it since the apple website is useless

when you plug it into a usb with iTunes open it should recognize it

if not try a factory reset using the disk mode and then reset

if still not take it back

could try this
http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/
or
http://www.redchairsoftware.com/anapod/

sounds like a driver issue

LOL this is what you get for buying a display model. Hope you got extended warranty!

Anyway, after you install the drivers, you can try using Winamp instead of iTunes. Some people prefer it that way.

Shouldn't he be able to get the drivers when he downloads itunes? The newer ipods don't come with itunes cd's anymore, oh and the walljack also.

Download itunes from www.apple.com and you should be able just to plug in your ipod and your off to the races. If you just plugged it in without the itunes it maybe the reason why your computer didn't reconize it.
