View Full Version : S2000 interior color opinions pls

carzcraz

I have decided that the plain black interior of my S2000 requires some "brightening up".

Unfortunately, I have having a difficult time deciding if I wanted to pursue a blue and black interior OR a red and black. The parts I will be replacing with the color will be the center console/pad as well as the door panels.

Based on the links below, which color combo do you prefer? Pls keep in mind that my seats, interior carpet, shift boot, steering wheel etc will remain black.

Your thoughts/opinions please

Red and black interior.... (pls scroll to the middle of the page)

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=215814&st=50

Blue and black interior (the blue will have the likeness of the last picture on the bottom of the page...with the Sparco seats)

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=198354&st=25

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=449912

Also, if it makes any difference, the exterior of my car is Silverstone Metallic (grayish)

thanks in advance

I think pure black is pretty hot. I understand what you're going for though, I just think that a pure black interior with red/black interior panels looks kind of "goofy", unless you have other red accents.

carzcraz
01-02-2007, 07:55 PM
yeah the only parts that will have the red or blue accents is part of the door panel and the top or sides of the center console (seen in the picture with the red and black interior)

Well if you really are set on a color change, i would definetly get red! You can get the '02+ panels with tweeter mounts!

Red is the way to go

I would stay all black but if you have to do Red and black.
No other color goes with black as well as red does IMO.

Thanks for all your opinions....

The more I look at the red and black vs. blue and black interiors, the more turned off I'm beginning to get lol.

This two tone look is beginning to remind me of the days (many years back) when painting your interior plastic trim was "catchy" and "cool"

I'm strongly favouring getting simple black door panels and center console cover with subtle blue or red stitching instead

red/black . I noticed that u have to pull the handle to lock the pass side door (from drivers), is that a defect?

Impreza

^ Hmm, I don't recall that happening in my car.

do you prefer the alcantara material? I was thinking either of that or the black CF pattern. I actually have the black CF pattern on my center console.

On a Silverstone Metallic (grayish) exterior, am I better off with red stitching, blue or silver?

yea i agree with eur0 red/black like in that picture leave the stearing wheel all black that will look good its nice and clean and its not too much

Is the red and black combo preferred over something very much more subtle like all black with red stitching on the door panels, console cover and say shift boot?

...should also mention, I will keep my black seats for the timebeing.

Geez this is giving me a headache lol

I drove one at work, fell in love with the s2000, I like how the front fenders and the long hood line looks. Always wanted to drive one since 2000. What is that window thing in the back? Red/Black is deadly

Haha yeah I can get the red door panels and center console no problem, but I'm not prepared to purchase a set of red seats at the moment ( I still have to finish my exterior)!

The red/black interior is very nice, but without the red seats I find that the look is rather weak. Here's a link to one below....(you have to imagine the red door panels but you get the idea)

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=115613&st=0&#entry1538528

I think I'm begining to favour the more subtle look...red stitching lol!

Come on now, I think a white/grey interior would be sweet! hehe

The 'Type R' theme with red stitching would look rather slick too.

i believe red/black combo will look great. It'll be even better if you can accent it with different materials. Texture makes a big difference!!

I like the black and red, but imo the red dash looks a little tacky, stick with a black dash for sure.

red in the door panel accents, not the dash

Willing to trade seats 4doorj :D

Anyway, I can get a really good deal on some OEM red door panels ($115USD shipped) in perfect condition.

Do you guys think I should pick them up and figure out what I want to do with them down the road...or scratch the whole two-tone thing and get my red stitching instead.

I have till the end of the day to decide to purchase those panels....

I decided to pass up on the red and black theme and am going with the black alcantara w/ red stitching instead. Looking to upgrade my center console to the 04+ as well

the entire dash being red kinda looks cheap

if ur gona do the entire dash, then go with the blue/black, but if u can do what 4doorj posted, then that option EASILY outweighs what u put down.

Yeah I did, and thanks for that. I think I am going to stick with the J's Racing though, it really grew on me recently and I am planning to just repaint it after winter.

What I love about the s2000 is that you can rest your right arm on the console and hit it into 6th. :bigpimp:

Carzcraz, I have the same Silverstone (except for black CF vented hood) as you do with black interior. Like you, I wanted a splash of "color" in the interior.
I have a set of these (but in RED for the inserts).
http://wetokole.net/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/S2000_L.jpg
I've had a set of all black ones for a while now. Warm in winter and (only) warm in summer. I love 'em. The new seat covers will go on before spring.
I've also got this coming:

And I have these:

That's just enough RED for me.

Yup decided to drop the red interior and am going with something more subtle. I have in our spare room parts waiting to go on the car in a few months...

-OEM Lip
-AP2 Center Console
-AP2 Radio Door
-Craftsqure CF mirrors

Thanks again for all the comments/input everybody.

xviper....are those JPM custom seat covers you have? How is fitment of them?

The seat are from "Wet Okole" (Hawaii). They're made of neoprene (wet dive suit material) and are very form fitting. Here's their website:
http://wetokole.net/page/WOH/PROD/HONDA/S2000
They're made in Hawaii, but they ship from California.
