I would like to know as well.. that would make a very fun project.

Is there a certain licence you need to get to be able to race? And if there is, where could you get it?
What specs do the car need to be able to race? ie. cages, seat belts, sets, etc

www.RallyWest.com
Thats the home page for the Western Canadian Championship.

As for a forum, go to www.SpecialStage.com and click forums then Canada West, or something like that.

Its also a good idea to try Rallycross or Dirt Autocross prior to getting into rallying. Both the Calgary Sports Car Club and the Edmonton Rally Club host plenty of events.

Shawn Bishop is on Beyond too, but I forget his screen name. He hosts all the CSCC rally cross events as well as the 3 Calgary area rallies.

Feel free to PM me.

I can give you some names and numbers to contact, I would be happy to hook people up to crew or marshall for some teams/events to get your feet wet and understand the community before you spend a bunch of money

Cheers

And i guess i can put a slight damper on the parade and suggest that you buy an already prepped car (much less money) and see if you like the sport first.....then, you can build that ideal rally car that all of us dream about (for me, Open Class STi)....
