sr20det swap

hey, im lookin in to an sr20det swap into my 240sx, but i was wondering how much its gonna cost for install, from what i know it will drop perfectly in, and the wiring and ecu will mathc up perfectly so what am i lookin to payin for labour?:dunno:

Hahahah......First throught out the word perfectly. Now adds the words "money" and "hassels". Harness need to be redone nothing perfect there. Does drop in though.

Andrew tried to skimp as much as he could but being realistic with the mod choices and I think he spent around 11,000 to do the swap. I spent more than that and Darknight spent wayyyyy more.

I have driven a ghetto SR locally and if you dont spend the cash it's a waste IMO because it shows.

umm yep Hollywood pretty well summed it up. My bro also has a sr and is buying everything he needs for it right now, we are just trying to buy the essentials and so far the bill is around 7000 thats with ic,exhust,bov,turbo timer, boost controler, 4 autometer guages, engine, he still needs a clutch a hot pipe, new motor mounts, and a few other things. I also suggest since he is running a little bigger turbo for him to also upgrade his rad and get a electric fan which ups the price. I expect for him to have to spend 1500 more. Mind you his engine did come with s14 t-28, retuned ecu, larger inj, lightend flywheel and z32 maf so he'll be pretty quick. But for the price he got for the engine he's been able to spend alittle less so far.

well 11000 is more the i had expected, form what i have read the ecu matches up pretty good wiht the 92 240 wiht the red top, and holly wood was your car at the world of wheels?

I'd recommend sr20det95 to do the job, he has a lot of experience about the sr20det swaps. He's the one that's been installing many of the sr20det's around calgary.

man lucky ppl, u guys dont got cali emissions to worry about. i'm debating if i should risk it and try to pass a SR. i got a estimate down here in cali from a sr specialist for almost 4 grand USD to do the swap gah... either that i just go dress up.....bah
