Hey use this thread to vent about the worst u've been run down in a hand of poker. I'll start:

The other day i was playin 1-2 N/L i am a pretty tite player. I pick up KK in middle position. There is 1 caller before me. I am sittin at about 200$ give or take a bit. I raise it up to 20$ and get 2 callers going into the flop. The flop comes out K 10 5 rainbow. 1st position checks i bet out 40$ guy behind calls, 1st position folds. The turn comes a duece and i love it. Theres about 140 in the pot now so i bet 100$ he takes his time and makes the call im like  wtf this guy holdin. The river comes a Jack im so confused that i check. He pushes me all in. I got like 40 left so i call. He has Queen Nine. NO flush draw nothing but a DIRTY gut shot. Cleaned me out of 200. :guns:

I was pretty choked but i know its fukks like that who are going to make me rich some day.

Lets hear some other bad beat stories to make me feel better about mine.

He took the risk and got the reward. That's what good old poker's all about.

he took a risk, a big risk, you played it smart.. personally if i had three kings in that situation i could never fold your hand, good on you for not folding, sometimes the best player doesn't win...

That sucks about your KK hand... I can't believe buddy called $100 with a gutshot and only the river to come...

Anyways, heres my recent worst hand...

9 handed live tournament at friends house, $50 buy in... Second hand!

I'm in the BB and dealt 5 6 offsuit... theres 6 folds, 1 caller, no raise... So it's me (BB)... the SB... and another guy left in the hand... I check, flop comes... 5 6 6... Checked all around... Turn comes 10... Checked again to the river... river comes Ace... guy calls all in, $1500... SB folds... I called quick with my house, guy turns over AA and knocked me out in 9th place...

Was playing a $50 buy-in tourney with about 30 people (coworkers, friends, randoms, etc).

I get delt AA under the gun, sitting at about $140. Just call waiting for someone else to raise, next two people fold, then someone raises to $4 (blinds are $0.50/$1.00 at the time), 3 callers, then the small blind raises to $15. Big blind folds, I call, rest of the people fold.

Flop: 10c 2c 5d

He raises $20, I re-raise all-in (he only had like $10 bucks left). He calls. Turns out, he has AA as well. We have a good chuckle and get ready to split the pot.

Turn: 3c
River: 7c

And, of course, he has the Ace of clubs. Fuck was i choked... AA run over by AA. Fuck my face.

I got 2 bad beats that still stick out in my head.

first one:

I was dealt 5d6d and I was on a roll at the stampede playing 1/2 NL. I had been dominating this table for about 45 mins, so i raise it to $8 to go. I get a couple callers. Flop comes down 7d 8d 2c. I was happy with the flop, bet out $15, all but 1 folds, so we got heads up on the turn. TURN is 9d. I am all like fuck yeah! turned a straight flush! I got a feeling this chick is not gonna fold, so i bet out $75, and she calls with no hesitation. I put her on the flush as well. River card comes 10d. she checks, i push all in for about another $150. she calls.

bitch had AdJd for a higher straight flush.

second one was, got dealt pocket aces. preflop 2 people go all in, I call it.

I had AA, guy to my left had KK and chick a few places away had JJ.

flop comes down AKJ.
turn and river was something useless.

I was almost 4 large with that hand :)

so wouldn't you have hit the bad beat jackpot which was probably better than the pot on the hand:confused:

This isn't a BAD beat, but its the HONEST TRUTH.

We played this week, and it was my GF's first time playing tourney style texas hold'em. She more or less knew the rules of poker. So anyway, we turned it into a bit of an amateur night, so no one would get mad if someone made a mistake. I know some guys that just HATE playing with people who don't know what they're doing but we don't mind.

ANYWAY -- So it's my GF's second deal of the night, and she this is is what she laid out on the table, for real. Me and another guy were the only people too stay in, because on the flop, there were 3 spades, we both thought we had a flush draw, then the ace of spaces came down, and we're shitting our pants. laughing at the odds of the 10 of spades coming down last.....

http://img395.imageshack.us/img395/3718/dsc0037ou8.th.jpg (http://img395.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc0037ou8.jpg)

ridiculous.

We had to take pictures for posterity.

Happy ending for me....

JJ(me) vs AA, heads up all-in pre-flop, J on the flop, A on the turn, J on the river :bigpimp:

Not really a bad beat, but this was late in a tournament (1 place away from the money) and I had KTo. Flop was KTJ of spades so I move all in, given that the chances of him flopping a flush are pretty remote and I was close to the short stack at this point. The other guy quickly calls and not only were his whole cards spades, but they were the AQ of spades. So I was knocked out on the bubble by a royal flush. First time that I have EVER come across a royal flush while playing too...maybe I don't play often enough?

One (semi) bad beat that I laid on somebody a few months ago...I had JJ in the hole, flop was KQ9 rainbow. Turn was another J and he moves all in. I put him on KQ so I quickly called. Turns out he has ATo. However the river was the case jack so my quads crushed his ace high straight. Not my only out though of course, any pair on the board would have also given me a full house. But this hand did win me about $100 :)

This one pissed me off ,

Dealt King 10 Offsuit in the Big blind , short stack ( maybe 1500 in chips , we start with about 10k ) Blinds are 50/100 , It gets called the entire way ,5 way poker, being worried i wanted to see the flop so i check...

Flop is Jack King Ten all different suits , SB checks to me , i lay out 250 , fold , fold , Call , Call

Ten on the Turn, I have a full house 10's over Kings

Check , I push all in , Fold , then the SB calls

He turns over his Queen Jack , I flip my King Ten over , hes pretty pissed

River Card comes and its a Jack

Fullhouse for him , Jacks over 10's , Beats my Tens Over Kings

He told me he was going for the straight!

I was mad

Fuck.....after playing so much 4-8 at ABS the past 4-5 years, I've dealt and received so many sick beats in my life. Raising marginal hands, inducing callers into massive pots, hitting a sick 1 or 2 outer. Poker is such an indiscriminate game. This thread is making me want to get back into it badly.

Ah, forgot about this thread. Nothing too horrendous here, but all this has happened to me just recently...I like how the case king hits on the turn in the first one...or the backdoor flush, or how some bozo played KQ. Three outers on the river also seem to be a pokerstars specialty.

That's a pretty bad check on the river...

You're obviously calling if he bets anyways, so you may as well bet it and hope he calls with what is usually K-8 or A-10 or something similar.

Do we really need a bad beat thread??

Anybody who has played any amount of poker knows its part of the game and happens to everybody. I could share more bad beats stories than most people as I played full time for almost 2 years as my only source of income.

To be honest, sharing the stories doesn't really make anyone feel better and really, who even likes hearing them??

I still play mostly FullTilt but with a mix of a couple others as well. When I played live it was in Regina, these days I only make it down to Deerfoot/Grey Eagle/ABD once in awhile.

I've played as high as $10/$20 NL online, but that was a couple years ago when not everyone had pokertracker, pokerace, sharkscope, etc, etc.

Now I only play tourneys online because of these softwares or very seldom when I do play cash I play 12-16 tables because it's only profitable now to play aces...lol.

Haha Nice, whats your username on FTP? I have some money on it, but I play mosty on stars... The only time I grind 12 tables is when I'm playing SNGS... I usually won't play more then 6 tables in MTT's.
