Looking for a replacement for my 9800 Pro AIW that appears to have packed it in....

Either something interim solution (ie:cheap but was a good card in its day) or something that still is a good card for AGP.

Let me know if anyone has something, either here or PM...

I've got an ATI (built by ATI) X850pro. This is the model with 1.6ns RAM, and can be flashed to an X850XT with just a diskette bios flash(I could even do it for you if you prefer). Comes with all the usual goodies and is still under warranty. It'd be $180 picked up or $190 shipped to your door...

Thanks for the PM's, I'll be reviewing them more this afternoon and get back to people later.

Thanks Fiatman, I was considering an X850 Pro, but I wouldn't pay $190 shipped for a used one. I can go buy a brand new one for $189.95 so unless you're willing to go noticeably lower.... Thanks for the offer and if you're willing to move on your price then I'll consider it. BTW, what's the serial number on your 850 start with or have you checked it with ATITool?

I'll sell you my x800 pro AGP for 80$.

Negligible difference from the X850, same thing with the bios flash to XT. It OC's well over XT stock clocks anyway, the flash just unlocks the extra pipes.

PM for details.

S/N starts with 180628.... Haven't run it hardly at all-came back from RMA about 2 months ago, and put it in a system for 30 seconds to test if it worked. Never even started ATItool to mess around. Is it true that the newer versions are laser-cut to not allow unlocking?

Fiatman: Yeah that's what I read, apparently if the serial number starts with a #52 then that's a good sign for unlocking.
ATITool can show you fuses info and if you have F's in your Config Die Fuses and Config Substrate Fuses then you most likely will have success, otherwise not.

if you have those 2 red F's you can unlock
Anyways, who is the manufacturer of your card then and are you holding firm to your price? Also is it a two slot cooling solution, not even sure if any 850's are single actually...

Clem24: That's kicking it old school LOL... I'm probably gonna try to pick up something a little more current after thinking about it.

Soobad: I'm interested in your X800 Pro, ygpm:thumbsup:
