After years of owning a sports car, I've converted to the world of Jeep 4x4 ownership.

As you can tell, the pictures/post is a bit late. ;) But I just remembered about this place and wanted to become more of an active user than a random lurker.

plan to do any off roading?

Not the first time I've heard of it compared to an H2. No offense taken, I don't hold anything made by the Hummer brand (with the obvious exception of the original H1) in high regard, so to say it's a 'poorly-done H2' is more of a compliment than to say it is a 'well-done H2'.

My job requires that I haul a lot of equipment around, and I wanted something comfortable, 4 wheel drive, with lockable, protected storage. A full size truck doesn't have lockable rear storage unless I buy a cap (not happening), and the BMW I was looking at was just an i, not an xi (no AWD).

Having said that, I'm starting to get the bug and I'm thinking I might want to foray into the world of off-roading... albeit MILD off-roading, as it's only a 2 year lease.

I doubt the designers of H2 were even born when the first jeeps came out. If anything H2s are copies of these machines.

Truck looks great man. Congrats

I drove past one yesterday, and thought it was an H3....but that's a good thing! They look so good in person!

Does it lag in 6th gear on the highway?

Sixth gear is awesome on the highway, though if you're doing less than 110 KM/H, fifth might be a better idea. I drove to my folks place in Winnipeg for Christmas, and was doing 140-150 KM/H all the way in sixth gear, only used ~$100 on fuel.

If you see a black Sahara driving with a cracked windshield, that's me. Time to get a new windshield come spring. Stoney Trail killed it. :thumbsdow

I've got a 4Runner V8 4WD... if I am not working I'd bring her out to play in the mud a bit :D
