Not sure, I know you can buy different pads for the helmet and replace them. You may want to call one of the shops to make sure on that though.

Small and medium share the same size shell. Just the pads which makes it either a small or medium. Pads can be had pretty cheaply on newenough.com or other online stores. This is a good deal on a good helmet. I'd probably pick it up but I need an XL.

I called Walt Healy and one of the guys said it won't really work because the inner foam of the helmet can't be changed. Then I called Blackfoot and they said it should be fine if I change the lining and cheek pads, but it won't be exactly like a medium. Pads and the liner costs around $46 + tax at the blackfoot/walt healy.

I think the guy at walt healy misunderstood my question.
