no, the current owner claims it's alberta registered, but i am questioning whether or not it's a scam and need details

Ok, well what you need is a car proof. Carfax won't help you if it's a Canadian car. Car Proof is Canada based, Carfax is for USA cars.

Unfortunately car proof is pay-per-use and not like carfax where it is cheap for a month's usage or whatever they do. Some dealers have car proof accounts though.
