I looked up the specs for those subs, and they are 400 watts RMS per sub.

I am guessing your amp is 1800 watts peak, NOT rms?

Telling us what amp you might have might be helpful, however, if it is 1800 watts peak, then no that is not too much.

heh ur amp is good for overpowering one sub...300rms x 1 @ 4ohm. 600rms x 1 @ 2ohm.

yeah forget peak power ratings, figure out what ohms your subs are, and what way they will be wired, to match the amp properly.. 1800w doesnt mean crap.. RMS watts is all you need to be concerned about.. its like matching pipe sizes, you want one pipe to connect properly to the next.. same as the subs and amps, if your subs are 4 ohms, you can wire in series or parrallel... in series they add, so 4 and 4 would be an 8ohm load, but if you run them parrallel, that gives two paths, cutting them in half.. so 4 and 4 would be 2.. i know its tricky to understand at first, but what we need from you is the ohms on the subs, may be single 4ohm voice coild, or dual 4 ohm.. or 2.. etc.. it'll say somewares, then we can give u a diagram to wire them to your amp..

No amp is EVER too strong for any sub. Some people are just retards. Set you're head unit to 95% max power, and the gain on the amp to 0 -- play some music. Slowly turn the gain up on the amp, until the subs start to distort, turn back the gain 1/4 turn.

That way, if some fat retarded chick grabs your stereo know and cranks it to 100 when the dixie chicks come on the radio, your subs will survive.

A friend of mine has the 8001 amp running the subs so that should be fine.

except many decks clip over 75%, and usually people set up there speakers for that level..
