no your a fag becuase you tried to make me hitting a curb look funny...which really..its not..and i bet your dumbass has hit tons
of curbs..or you dont even have a car at all...what makes you
think i was drifting and hit a curb? cuz i drive a 240...if you got
nothing important to say...then i suggest you dont say it at all retard.:closed: :guns:

I'm thinking it's your steering rack. Does the wheel have trouble automatically spinning back to the neutral position after you go round a turn?

If you find a rack at the wreckers, install should take no more than 2 hours.

Just because he has a 240 doesnt mean there was drifting involved. Now no more arguing...dont make me come back there.....

Rack does sound like another plausible diagnosis... ive hit plenty of curbs in my time tho, and usually ive gotten away with tie rods....one time i bent one on my rx7 almost into a 90 degree elbow...lol

i hit a curb in the 240 a while ago and i snaped the tie rod (you would kow if you snaped it) and broke the control arm and i was only going about 15km/h in a parking lot, but i also hit it straight on

Whoopsieeeesss....hahaha yah ive seen a few of those... i think my skill has gotten better now tho , i havent hit a curb in like 2 years. Every time i hit a curb, i was fucking around...so totally my fault.

sr20dets13
01-13-2007, 06:03 PM
yea it totally wasnt head on..i just like swerved sideways into it switching lanes..so
just gave the rim a bad rash and the steering went stif right after lol

well i took it for another drive to see if it was still bad..and yea when i turn a corner and let go of the wheel it comes back somewhat but has a really hard time going back to a straight position..so would that be more the steering rack or would a bent tie rod end cause this also:confused:

k now i dont know what could be wrong lol..i got my car up on a hoist and checked it all out..nothing is bent or seems to be out of
place...i dont think an aligntment would fix this problem would it?
anyways if sumone has ever had this problem before lemme know! lol

how did you hit the curb? at an angle, straight on or parellel?

Control arm and tie rod are most likely the problem. It's too hard to tell unfortunately by just going off of what you're telling us without me taking a look.

But FYI, and it happened on my previous car because of the previous owner, they hit the curb and it actually bent the frame. Hitting curbs can leave a lot up for debate without looking at it, but something is wrong, the energy of a direct hit like that has to go somewhere.

^^^^ wow how did you manage to bend it to 90 degrees? my mom smoked a curb real hard going 50 and all we got was a slight bend..... in the rim and a alignment

i came at it paralell..i was switching lanes and swerved over n hit the curb..wasnt going fast and the tie rod and control arm both seem normal..i was thinking the steering rack or the column maybe? i tried to wiggle the streering column and there is a
bit of play in it..but it dosent move around too much..anyone good
with diagnosing this kinda stuff let me know! and if you availible to take a look just send me a pm thanks guys!
