Then what type of exhausts sound decent?
I'm looking into getting a catback system, however I dont want something that people call a ricer exhaust or a fartcan exhaust.

anything generally high quality will have a nice deep low tone to it that isnt stupid loud, if u buy ur exhaust from crappy tire, expect to be flamed, greddy evo is a great one, i had tanabe racing medallion on my civic and it sounded like a supra, but i also had B18c NA tuned, so helped a little with the sound, by like i said, quality, dont cheap out on the xhaust otherwise you will hate it, and others will hate you for it.

My Apexi N1 exhaust is pretty quiet.. and it sounds awesome at WOT.

My bro and I are suppose to be gettin a project going on a 97 Accord wit Jspec H22A. There's a tanabi(G-medalion) on it now it sounds great to me specially at WOT. Still kinda loud, all honda after market exhausts are loud though. Fuck it if ya got the go to go wit tear their fukin ear drums out...lol.

Theres a difference between it sounding awesome at WOT on a Nissan then WOT on a Honda...:nut: :banghead: :rofl:

The worst part is that everyone has their own opinion on what constitutes a good sounding exhaust. My personal preference is a fairly quiet exhaust, maybe a little bit louder than stock, and have a throaty growl at WOT and still flow well. Nothing raspy or super loud. But some of the people that have their super overbearing sounding exhausts like it to sound that way. It's just annoying to my ears.

I have an Apexi World Sport exhaust on my civic, and it fits my needs perfect. My X-Runner has an OEM exhaust that has been supposedly 'tuned' for flow... I removed the rear cats (it had 4) and now it flows even better and has a nice deep sound, but not loud...

Just to clarify with everybody, I never thought those exhausts sounded good either. I just happened to find that video on you tube and thought the one car setting off the car alarm was entertaining!

I'm sorry for the Juvenille question, What does WOT mean? Are you implying With Out Throttle?

Haha okay!.
I agree with your statement stating quieter exhausts with a deep deep tone.
When you have a civic or an integra with a super loud exhaust, most people realize its not the car that sounds bad, its the exhaust itself.
If you have a highly modified import, and you have a quiter exhaust, it trully enables the listner to notice the pure sex sound of the engine, the exhaust just gives it that extra kick.
IMO Thats how you develope a powerfull sounding vehicle.
