signal light bulb replacement

Today I attempted to change my signal light bulb. I think I figured it all out but it is still not working. The thing is, there is this sticky glue/gum like stuff that I Think is blocking the charge cause I'm positive i'm doing everything else right. Any tips?

I believe most car's headlights have that sticky glue/gum like substance on the plugs; mine certainly does! And I'm not too sure as to the validity of it, but someone once told me that the glue/gum substance is actually supposed to HELP create contact with the wires. Maybe check to see if your replacement bulb isn't already burnt out by swapping it into the other side?

Well I got it working but I really have to push the bulb hard into place, so when I take the pressure off it stops working :S I cannot get it to snap or click into place it just pretty much falls out if I tip it over.

You mostlikely have the wrong bulb or your not pushing it in hard enough.. If it is a 3057 bulb sometimes they are a bitch to get in you just need to push really hard.

It is the right bulb.... It blinks when I have it pushed in hard. But the second I let go it stops. Do I have to turn it a certain way or antying? Yes, it is a 3057 bulb. Anyone in lethbridge wanna come help me? I'm a girl who knows nothing.

If I wasn;t 3 hours away I would come. I am just trying to think because I had troubles before I am sure it just takes a bit of force to push it in. Maybe try turning it the other way.. if you haven't done that already.

I am not 100% sure but I think there was a recall for the tail light bulb housing.. Maybe take it to a GM dealer and they should be able to check if there is a recall or even just ask for someone to help you put it in.
