Anybody else get caught in this on the way to work this morning?

I normally don't take Deerfoot, but had to drop my car off at T and T Honda for some servicing.

Took me almost 2 hours to get to work. It was backed up everywhere.

I wasn't affected by it but my co-worker was. He said it was backed up all the way from Bowtrail and 37th St. SW.

Yeah, people spill into other roads which took me extra 10min to get to downtown.

CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE

At 6:04 AM emergency crews responded to southbound Deerfoot
TR between McKnight BV and 32 AVE NE for a multi-vehicle
collision. 3 people were injured and suffered serious
injuries:

Patient 1 - a 51 year old female suffered chest and possible
spinal injuries. She was transported to the Foothills
Hospital in stable condition.

Patient 2 - a 24 year old male, he suffered head and facial
injuries and was transported to the Foothills Hospital.

Patient 3 - a 54 year old female, she suffered chest and
possible spinal injuries and was transported to the Peter
Lougheed Hospital.

All 3 patients were in serious but stable condition and their
injuries are not considered life threatening. Southbound
Deerfoot Trail traffic is currently down to only 1 lane and
motorists should consider alternate routes for their morning
commute.

The Calgary Police Service is investigating the collision.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wasn't on Deerfoot, but a lot of the traffic was detoured to Centre St. and that added about 15 minutes of driving to my commute downtown.

Barlow was backed up too. It only took me an extra 10 minutes or so though.

I heard this on the news this morning. I'm so glad I don't have to drive in rush hour traffic. Deerfoot can be crazy.

Reports said alcohol was not a factor, so that makes you wonder... He sideswiped 3 cars before hitting head on into another one..... Buddy shouldn't endanger others lives because his own sucks.... He should have explored other methods.
