Hi Folks,

I was wondering if someone knew how to obtain a CAR dealership license in Alberta, and in the US?

Thanx in advance!

You have to go to CityHall first of all and apply for a business license, then you call up amvic and register for their 1 day course

Technically speaking, if you just want to be a dealership... city hall, get a business license (for doing automotive, so you're paying for fire code inspection, police inspection, location inspection), then you apply at amvic, but you don't necessary have to go through their 1 day course, unless YOU want to sell cars.

The dealership itself doesn't need the saleperson 100 (the 1 day course). It's the individuals within that dealership/ business who sells a motor vehicle in Alberta.

Edit: Here you go: "Motor Dealer - with premises" costs $402 with all these inspections. http://www.calgary.ca/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_2_780_227_0_43/http%3B/content.calgary.ca/CCA/City+Business/Running+a+Business/Licences+and+Permits/Business+Licenses/Licence+Categories+and+Fees.htm
