L Hansen charged me $500. I guess they are about as reputable as you can get. It's all kind of dodgy and from what I hear, it's hard to avoid damage, but I think Hansen's is at least fairly good about paying for it. My car had some damage to it so we'll see if they make good for me.

^ Most people pay to get it shipped to a location so that they avoid having it driven, or driving it through potentially hazardous conditions.

I paid $300. I had a dealer add my car to a truck that wasn't full and on its way to Calgary anyways. Worked perfectly, not a mark on the car. And it was basically overnight as well.

Man, sounds like I got rolled.

I wonder how much of a difference it makes WRT the time you ship it, is there a peak season for car shipments?

Not necessarily. You just need to find an open spot on a load that is going to Calgary. That's where the deals are. However, if you are going this way it could be quite a wait to ship the car unless you luck out and there is already a truck scheduled with an open spot.

It's much more expensive if the carrier is only shipping your car. Ever tried FedEx? They subcontract to a professional third party throughout North America and I've heard only good things about them. Might have better luck there since they do more volume.

Try to make sure your car isn't on the top at the front!! It mite get a few chips.

I think you missed it. He wants $200 PLUS you pay for flight and gas and other miscellaneous things.

If you wanted to go to Vancouver, here's your chance. Just go down and drive it back yourself. That way you'll know it's done right too.
