You can buy an older 3 series (1999, 2000, 2001) for around 25,000.

Because its a auto and the kms are not listed. Any time someone 'forgets' to list kms usually they are much higher than they should be.

Autos are worth more, especially to the target crowd for bimmers but younger guys prefer 5spd.

You can't touch a 2000-2002 AUDI S4 for a luxury/performance combo for anywhere near 25K, especially if you want to mod it.

That is my suggestion. Also look at 3series BMW's if the AUDI is not for you.

dont those gen of S4s still suffer from a few electrical problems? like the sunroof motor failing etc? (happened to a buddy who had one, also had his heated seats stuck on "on" and couldn't get them to turn off)

I've never heard of a sunroof problem, and the only semi-common electrical problem I know of is pixels burning out in the LCD screen (~$700 if it really bugs you) but that isn't that common. My car is 7 years old and has every pixel. This is true with any car with LCD screens though. I wonder how those new Benz's will be in a few years, the ENTIRE dash is an LCD screen.

The only common problems with them (if they even turn into a problem) are diverter valves, F-hose (on 2000's only) and throttle body boot. All 3 of these things can be upgraded for ~$100.
