Hey guys, I needed a couple new widescreen LCDs for my PC and I decided to pick up a pair of Viewsonic 20.1" that were on a major sale at Best Buy. During the sale period, I grabbed the last two monitors I could find and I intended to keep them for myself.

But then a Dell sale rolled around and I bought two of those since they were bigger at 22" (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=CADHS1&sku=320-5205). My plan was to keep the monitors that I preferred and to return the other ones.

I've got four monitors in front of me (I feel like the operator in a Matrix movie) and I'm going to keep the Dells and sell/return the Viewsonics.

That's not to say the Viewsonics are inferior -- they actually feature better image quality since they have superior 8-bit P-MVA panels that are becoming rare these days. The Dell only has 6-bit TN panels, which are kind of budget.

So why am I keeping the lesser quality of the two panels? Only because they are bigger and my eyes suck. After comparing the two monitors, the Viewsonics are hands down better quality... just too small for me.

So, I'm putting up my pair of Viewsonic VX2025WM for sale. I bought them during the $299 sale at Best Buy (http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0926INGFS10072654&catid=22559&logon=&langid=EN) (they are currently selling for $399) and I could just as easily return them for a full refund. But before I do that, I'm looking to try to pass the deal onto a fellow Beyonder who may be looking for these monitors.

I'm going to sell these off at cost, so with taxes and environment fees, the pair will go for $660. I'd prefer to sell them together, but obviously a single one would sell for $330. (If no one is interested in these, they'll be heading back to Best Buy nearing the end of the 14-day return period.)

Both monitors have been tested to have NO dead pixels. Usage time for each is under 1 hour. Please PM if interested.

You might want to adjust your math...

$319+tax+gov't levy = ~$350.

Don't mean to prode but they are still an open package. ANd any of us might as well wait for you to return them so we can buy them from Bestbuy with the open package discount they would probably hand out with them. I know you want to get your money back. But its more realistic to reduce the price a little more than saving tax + levy on an item you already bought on sale.

Dell just had a sale on your new 22" monitors for $299. I also agree you should drop it to ~$500 for both. You even admitted yourself that you liked the Dell's better, right?

Yes. I haven't even taken the DVI, VGA, or AC cables out of the packages. (I used my existing cables to test.)

Sure, no problem. If no one is interested in these, I'll return them to Best Buy Northland. Look for them around Feb. 5 or 6.

Mind you, Best Buy's current price for these is $399.99, and for open box items they take off 10%, so $360 each. Add to that the $12 environmental fee and GST, and you have that at $394 each, or $788 for both.

Maybe I need to revise my math too, but I believe that $330 is less than $394... and that probably means that $660 < $788.

If I just wanted to get my money back, I would return them to the store today. I am within my 14-day return window. I'm trying to pass on the sale savings to another Beyonder looking for a set of nice monitors.

Well, the Dells are 1.9" bigger, but the colors and clarity on the Viewsonics are hands down better. The Dells can't reproduce 24-bit color, so you see some dithering. My eyes are bad though so I need my text as big as possible, even at the expensive of image quality.

To put it simply, if the Viewsonics were 22" with the P-MVA panels, I'd take them over the Dells in a heartbeat.

Man considering everyone wants you to drop the price and what not, even tho are do still retail for more at best buy.

I'd say just return them and get your full refund back.

yea ... refund might be easier.

I sold my 22" Dells and bought the Viewsonic 20" ... P-MVA > TN anyday. Same price .. smaller size .. but much beter screen.
