I currently have a 1995 Volkswagen Golf GTI 2.0, however I have decided to move on and will be selling it to my brother soon.

That being said I was considering either buying an MK3 VR6... as new and as low of KM's as possible, or a City Golf. Now I know the two dont really compare but I need some other perspective on my choices, and what better place to ask then the beyond forums? The perks of the city golf is that its brand new, the perks of the VR6 is the power, the looks, and the price is a tad cheaper depending on the year/mods/kms.

Please let me know what you would do if you were me, and reasons why. Thank you all!!

Get the VR. I just bought a MK3 VR and I love it. It's very dependable, and drives like a brand new car. As long as you find a nice one with low km, you can't go wrong

Yes I am looking for a VW Golf.

10,000-20,000, but mostly looking for something closer to 10,000.

Yeah, I'm definately feeling the VR6, hard to find a decent one though. I'll probably have to find one from out of Calgary. Buysell.com has some nice ones in Vancouver but I dont have time to go out there and drive back.

If you are patient you will find what you want. Actually I know of a killer one right now for sale: http://www.airriders.ca/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8306
It's in Edmonton, but check how low the kms are, and for an awesome price. Plus its the last year of MK3 you could get! Once I saw this was for sale I was dissapointed I bought the Jetta and didn't wait a little longer. It had its chain tensioners done which is the only big problem with these cars, so I would figure it would be a good little car!

Whats the going price for a MK3 VR6... I've seen around 10,000 is that a little too much, or just right?
