Laptop Speakers not working properly

Its pretty dumb, but on my laptop (Dell 700m), the LCD mounted laptop speakers are only working when the lid is about 40 or under degrees closed. I think the speakers mounted on the LCD need to be re-wired. It is out of its warrenty period, so does anyone know of a service depot that can do this kind of thing?

I would think you may have to send it back to Dell or call MemX. Cant think of anything else, that is a bit of a rare field especially if they are contacts.
