View Full Version : What are my chances of getting away with this?

What are the chances of me getting away with this idea? I want to build a website that will be dedicated to drivers in and around the city that drive like they just got their license out of a candy machine at the local Wal-Mart! I have had this inspiration for sometime now but I am certain there must be some legal issues with doing this. Could this be considered slander? All I want to put up is a few pictures and the license plate number (maybe?), and a brief description of what the hell they were doing! I think this would really change our streets for the good. Perhaps we could have a page that other people could add their comments and experiences? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

It's already been done, but I don't remember the link. Maybe someone else will remember it and post it here.

It wasn't done just for Calgary, but it was a thing in the US, and eventually they made one for Canada.

haha that would be pretty cool. You won't get in trouble if you don't publish the license plates. It's a free country, you should be able to. That's a good idea.

kinda useless because if i just don't like someone because of their face, i can put up their plate number and make up a fake story just to give them a bad rep for no real reason.

What the shit is this crap

If it's a serious problem you call 266-1234 to report them, not add your rant to an e-blog.

I agree with the thought of calling CPS if it's a serious matter but if it's just someone driving like an asshole or without attention, why waist time and tax payers money by calling CPS for little things when we can rant on a site and hopefully the person gets a few complaints and actually sees their plate on the site! Perhaps they would realize how they are driving and make appropriate changes before it does become a serious matter where CPS would be involved.

Its too bad you can't link the license plate to the driving school that issued the license.... It would be nice to track the amount of dangerous drivers out there and see where they received their licenses from then shutdown that school.

I swear some of those instructors are not paying attention when they give a passing grade.

Oh yeah, they should also start incorporating reflex tests to pass in order to get your license....IMO

x2, Agree, license testing should be kept within government departments... Cuz the employees have no conflict or give a shit whether you get a license or not, they still get paid.
