Possibly buying an used Volvo XC90 (2003-05). I've looked at a couple on autotrader and they are all about 30-35 grand. Is that a good price. Anyone on Beyond had any previous experience with this car??

PS : car isnt for me, its for my uncle, I'm buying it for him and shipping it over because its cheaper in Can.

XC90 is a nice vehicle, very good fit and finish and decent power if you go with the 6 cylinder turbo. It's not as flashy an interior as an X5 or RX330. It does have a fairly large blindspot. Your uncle should enjoy it

Went on a tour of the Volvo Factory in Sweden and got to sit in one three years ago.

FAcking Nice, I would buy one of those before I an Esclade, x5, Cayanne.

I remember awhile ago, there was a comparison between the Volvo's AWD system, Subaru's AWD system and othe companie's AWD system.
If I remember correctly, Volvo didn't do so well. While Subaru came out on top.

that may be true but it sure beats Cadillacs 4x4 and BMW's 4x4 right now, which are similarly classed vehicle's

The XC90 is quite nice. Yamaha makes the V8 for them in Japan, and it's 60 degrees instead of 90 like lots of V-8's. I personally wasnt a fan of the interior styling but the quality is there. I'd take an X5 over this, but since the Q7 isn't that old yet the XC90 would probably be my second choice. The magazines seem to like them. Motor trend did a long term test on one and they liked it alot.

My neighbor had an '05 XC90 T5 but just traded it in for the '07 V8 XC90. They really love it. I had the opportunity to drive it, and really thought it was a great package. The interior styling takes a little getting used to for me. But its definitely on my short list for my next SUV.
